Welcome to Nibbles and Giggles

The title of this blog encompasses everything that I want this space to be about; sharing my love for food, things I find funny or amusing, finding happiness in life and talking about topics that matter to me. "Nibbling" and "giggling" both attribute to a sense of moderation and caution, which are things about myself that have proven to be both strengths and weaknesses. A very lady-like individual may also come to mind, but I can proudly say that I neither nibble at my food or express a mere giggle, so no, I'm not what my dad would call "lady-like". Having said that, the indecisive person in me wants to share a little bit of everything. I hope that the small snippets that you read will offer you a taste of my calm and colourful life.

I’m known to be a private person, someone who is completely comfortable doing things alone, and entering a social setting involving more than 5 people requires at least an hour of mental preparation. Being private is a place of comfort where I do not have to be vulnerable with many and put myself at risk of being disappointed or hurt. Okay, this makes me sound like a hermit crab that has no friends. I swear I do! But I just wish it wouldn’t require as much effort to be open and allow others to get to know me.

This brings me to blogging. As an introvert, I'm an internal processor and express myself way better through writing than through conversation. I will choose to write an essay than to give a presentation any day. When blogging became a thing, I dabbled in it and found it to be the best way of exposing myself to the public at a pace I was comfortable with.

As much as I like shopping, eating and traveling, I want to dive deeper into topics and put forth my two cents on conversations that need to be had and I should be a part of. This will include personal reflections, thoughts on cultural and social identity/conflict, the rapid advancement of children's education, mental and physical wellness, and of course my favourite food spots. There's a lot that I'll be dabbling in, because there's just so much in the world to love!

So here I am, jumping on that "blogger" bandwagon and letting others have a glimpse of what goes on behind my RBF.
